The in-cabin experience - UI, UX, infotainment, connected software - has become the primary competitive differentiator for vehicle purchase decisions, particularly among younger and tech-forward buyers. The standard for that experience is no longer set in Detroit. It is set in Shenzhen.

Meanwhile, the talent required to close that gap - software engineers, UX designers, HMI architects fluent in both embedded systems and consumer-grade interface design - is scarce, mobile, and increasingly choosing employers outside traditional automotive. The organizational cultures and talent models that built the industry are not the ones that will win the software-defined vehicle era.

This roundtable asks three practitioners who have lived this challenge from different vantage points - inside an OEM, inside a Tier 1, and advising across the industry - to think out loud together about what is working, what is not, and what the industry cannot afford to get wrong in the next three years.
